Altoros, an established provider of software development services and a Hi-Tech Park resident, is looking for a Senior Data Engineer.
Responsibilities
- Knowledge of and experience implementing complex applications e.g. service-oriented architectures or distributed graphics processing engines
- Ability to work with multiple external teams and accomplish shared goals through the building consensus
- Experience designing and delivering large scale, 24-7, mission-critical data pipelines and features
- Demonstrated experience working in large-scale data environments which included real-time and batch processing requirements
- Strong understanding of ETL processing with large data stores, data modeling skills (relational, dimensional and flattened)
Requirements
- Hands-on experience in web development using Python or Java
- 5+ years of relevant work experience in IT/Data amp; Analytics
- 7+ years of software development and/or data engineering experience
- Intermediate + spoken and written English (ability to go for an interview with the customer and discussing requirements)
- Experience in any big data technologies - Hadoop, EMR, Amazon Redshift, Azure CosmosDB, Azure Data Lake, AWS DynamoDB
- Big data architectures and stream processing services such as Kafka, AWS Kinesis, Apache Storm, Spark Streaming, Azure Event Hub
- Strong analytical and SQL skills
- Experience with the Azure and/or AWS cloud platforms
- Experience working in a hybrid environment with multiple datacenters, multiple public cloud and SaaS providers
